The Hart Ski Hill has big plans for the next 10 years. 2018 will mark the hill’s 50th anniversary and they have unveiled an ambitious plan to improve the hill for all of their clientele. They have already managed to raise $200,00 through fundraising and have also secured a generous grant from Northern Development Initiatives Trust.

The first phase of the plan involves purchasing a “Silent Pole Cat Snow Gun,” a snowmaking device used to supplement natural snow. A device like this will allow the ski hill to extend its season and provide a better base for the top snow. After installing hydrants in various locations around the hill the gun can be moved to different areas to supply snow to the entire hill. Hart Ski Hill hopes to have 3 snow guns in total by the end of their upgrading. Other upgrades include new electrical and water systems.

Part of the long term proposed development plans include a professional quality water ramp/airbag for freestyle training during the summer months.

A Learning Centre is also on the docket, which will provide a safe and gradual learning environment for beginners. This will include a ‘magic carpet’, an easy to use ski lift for kids that resembles a conveyor belt.
