The Cariboo Cougars are headed back to the prestigious Mac's Tournament for the 11th straight year.

They received their invite last night for the tournament, which takes place between Boxing Day and New Year's Day in Calgary. The Mac's features the top midget triple-A teams from across Canada and the world.

"The staff and the players have done a great job. The last four years we've competed really well in that tournament so we're pretty happy to be able to go back and represent MML and represent the north," said Cariboo Cougars general manager Trevor Sprague.

The Cariboo Cougars won the tournament three years ago in 2014/15, and see themselves as competitors again this year.

"Why not? We've been in the semis the last two years so we've been competitive and I don't think this year will be any different," said Sprague.
