Talktober In November

Council has approved moving ahead with what has become an annual thing. Since being elected, Mayor Lyn Hall, Council and City staff have held a number of public get-togethers in different neighbourhoods. They were designed to get an idea of some of the issues residents are concerned about. Talktober didn’t happen this year because the referendum around Fire Hall#1 and the Four Seasons Pool dominated the conversation with the public.
However, Mayor Lyn Hall says that was a commitment he made after he was elected mayor.
“What we’ve been hearing is that people really like that format, where people can come out and have a casual conversation witgh Council or a casual conversation with staff about various things,” says Mayor Hall. “A lot of those conversations are around parks, infrastructure, road maintenance, snow clearing. Those are kind of issues that people really want to talk about.”
It is also coming up on budget talks with Council come the new year.
Bearing that in mind, Council has approved two new dates, albeit in November. They are:
*Saturday, November 25th from 2:30 to 4:00 @ Prince George Public Library, and
*Wednesday, November 29 from 6:30 to 8:00pm @ Prince George Public Library
