Texting Now Quarter of A Century Old

In case you missed it, there was an important milestone over the weekend.

Texting is now a quarter of a century old. The first ever text message was sent on December 3rd, 1992. Back then they were called S-M-S, or short message service. British engineer Neil Papworth sent the first ever text from his computer to a cell phone. It was a two word message: Merry Christmas. Papworth says the person he sent the historic message to wasn’t able to reply because people could only receive text messages back then.
