Condensate Spill Closes Alaska Highway

Dec 5, 2017 | 7:15 AM

A jackknifed tanker truck caused a minor condensate spill that shut down the Alaska Highway at Mile 132 north of Fort St John early yesterday evening. There were no injuries. RCMP say they were called to close down that stretch of highway, due to the highly flammable nature of the spill. No waterways appear to be affected. BC Environment officials are investigating with the highway estimated to reopen in both directions at around 5 p.m.
