During the first intermission of the Spruce Kings game Saturday, 12-year old Braden Flett cut his hair that he has been growing for two years.

Flett, a grade 8 student at the Duchess Park Secondary School wanted to raise money for cancer, alongside donating his hair. With the help of his school and social media he was able to raise about $2100.

The Spruce Kings not only played a hand in the venue, but also donated half of the $10 student priced tickets each sold for the game to Flett’s campaign.

Flett’s hair will be donated to cancer patients and the money raised will go to the Canadian Cancer Society.
