Quesnel Junior Hockey Bid Denied

Quesnel’s bid for a junior hockey team has been denied by the KIJHL, at least for now, with league officials voting 16 to 3 against the expansion. Former Quesnel Millionaire Matt Kolle was leading the charge for a junior B team in the Gold Pan city, and brought a couple of KIJHL games to the West Fraser Centre in November to show that there’s still a strong interest in junior hockey. The games were extremelly well attended but not enough to convince to Kootenay junior B league to expand further north. According to My Cariboo Now, Kolle still feels that the league governors believe the KIJHL will eventually expand to Quesnel and Williams Lake.
