PRINCE GEORGE — Ashley-Paige Smith is headed to the Mrs. Canada Globe pageant in just over three weeks. It wasn’t the glitz and glamour that sparked her interest in the pageant, but the organization’s commitment to charity work. The Mrs. Canada Globe pageant raises money for the Your Time foundation, it helps women and girls in need access menstrual products in Canada and Columbia.

Smith has also chosen to champion for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Prince George. “I chose them because I grew up in Prince George with a huge mentor base,” said Smith,” it makes a huge impact in your decision making and choices in life, and each one of them help you in the understanding of goal setting. They’re putting that option towards kids who don’t have those opportunities for mentors.”

Smith is hosting an event next Saturday at the Canfor Theatre to help raise money for BBBSPG, and cover the cost of competing. To follow her journey and show your support, find her on Facebook at Ms West Coast Globe 2018.
