Tiana Gairns has made quite the first impression.

The 19-year-old Prince George product finished 6th in her first ever ski cross World Cup event on Saturday.

Gairns posted on her Instagram page Saturday saying “I can’t put it into words how excited I am to finish 6th today at my first World Cup! Couldn’t believe the support I got from my friends, family and teammates. It was a blast being able to follow some of the speedy Canadians down the course.”

The Canadian Olympic ski team will be announced on Monday, but Gairns is not in the running since this was her first World Cup and the Olympic team is selected through multiple World Cup results. However, Gairns says she has her eyes set on the 2022 Winter Olympics.
