PRINCE GEORGE — A local filmmaker’s work has been chosen for the Vancouver Island Short Film Festival.
Twenty-year-old Isaiah Berra worked for three years to write, direct, produce and edit the ten-minute film called “The Contender”. The story focuses on the story of boxing coach Wayne Sponagle. The film was a project for Capilano College where Berra is a student.
Berra says Sponagle’s story is not only about the fight inside the ring, but the fight outside and the will to persevere.
He’s hoping to host a local showing of the film soon.
