City Will Not Re-Open Sani-Dump

Council has voted against re-opening an RV sani-dump site on Quinn Street and 18th Avenue.  It was brought forward by Councillors Frank Everitt and Brian Skakun in early December, who wanted to have staff take a look at the costs and challenges of doing that.

The report said that infrastructure changes would need to take place, and there would be challenges with parking long Quinn Street. In order to re-open and operate that site, it would cost the City a million dollars.

Mayor and Council voted, after much discussion, not to re-open the facility.

“I was initially opposed to re-opening that site and I’m glad to see the report bears that out,” said Councillor Jillian Merrick.
