Tandy Family Ready To Cheer On Megan At Olympics

Feb 9, 2018 | 6:17 PM

There are 5 athletes from our region on Team Canada, including biathlete Megan Tandy who will be competing in her third Olympics. Tandy’s parents Ed and Heather will be proudly watching from their home in Prince George, along with Megan’s sister Stephanie. Because of the 17-hour time difference with South Korea, there’s going to be some early wakeups for Megan’s events, but that’s no problem for the Tandy family. You’ll have to get up bright and early tomorrow morning if you want to catch Megan Tandy’s first biathlon event at the Olympics. Tandy will be competing in the women’s 7.5KM sprint which starts at 3:15 am Prince George time on Saturday – and short track speed skater Jamie Macdonald from Fort St. James will also be competing early Saturday morning. At 2:45am,  she has the women’s 500 metre qualifiers. That will be followed by the 3000 metre relay qualifiers an hour later.
