Timberwolves Ready To Build On Historic Win

EDMONTON – The UNBC Timberwolves will be looking to pull off an upset for the ages this weekend.  They’re in Edmonton to face the 1st place University of Alberta Golden Bears in U-Sports Mens quarterfinal basketball action. 

The Timberwolves won the school’s first playoff game in history last weekend in Winnipeg just to reach this point.  While Alberta dominated the west this season, losing just once in 20 games.  UNBC’s Saje Gosal knows the Timberwolves have a huge task ahead of them.  “We have all the respect in the world for Alberta. They’re a good team, and they’re the defending champs. We know that to have success in this league, eventually, you have to go into Alberta’s barn and get a win.”

The two squads will meet Friday at 2:00 pm (pacific), Saturday at 1:00 pm (pacific) and again Sunday at 12:00 pm (pacific) if a third game is necessary.
