Prince George’s Brainstorm To Reduce Poverty

PRINCE GEORGE – A public meeting was held in Prince George Saturday to discuss British Columbia’s first Poverty Reduction Strategy.

The open conversation asked residents two questions:

1. What issues do people in poverty face every day?
2. What are some solutions?

BC’s Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction Shane Simpson was set to attend the meeting, but due to poor weather, he was unable to be there.

Along with the brainstorming of possible solutions, people also shared their personal stories dealing with poverty.
