Fort St. James’ Jamie Macdonald has a good chance to bring an Olympic medal back home from South Korea.

Macdonald, along with Kim Boutin, Marianne St. Gelais and Kasandra Bradette, will be skating in the women’s 3000 metre relay “A” final Tuesday morning, scheduled for 3:29am PST.

They will be taking on China, Italy, and the defending gold medalists Korea in the final. Canada has taken silver in the women’s 3000 metre relay at the last three Olympics.

Macdonald grew up skating for the Fort St. James Falcons, and this is the 23-year-old’s first time competing at the Olympics.
