Police Dog Seizes Alleged Car Thief

QUESNEL – Shortly after 11:30 am this morning in Quesnel, an officer spotted a vehicle that was reported stolen from the Prince George area. The driver took off at high speed into North Quesnel after noticing the officer. The vehicle was later found abandoned on a dead-end street. A police dog was called in from Prince George to track the suspect, who was located in an outbuilding less than 100 meters away from the vehicle.

The man, who is known to Quesnel RCMP, was arrested and suffered minor injuries because of the confrontation with the police dog. He’s being held in court where it’s expected that he’ll face several charges in relation to the incident.
