Local Power Lifter Competing At World’s Largest Multi Sport Event

The Olympics might be the pinnacle of worldwide sporting events, but next week a local powerlifter will be competing in what is known as the largest multi-sport event in the world. Jay Cook is off to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the Arnold Sports Festival, which will feature an estimated 20,000 athletes from 80 countries. The event is headlined by the weightlifting competitions, and Cook will be competing in powerlifting. He made the qualifying totals at Worlds in September, and then had his application to compete accepted.
