PRINCE GEORGE — BC’s Minister of Finance Carole James paid Prince George a visit Saturday to discuss the 2018 BC Provincial Budget.

The open roundtable event gave the opportunity to anyone in Prince George to ask the Minister questions.

With 6 billion dollars over the next decade being allocated to affordable housing, some members of the Prince George community said they are worried that a lot money is going primarily to the Lower Mainland and forgetting rural communities and smaller cities like Prince George.

The Minister responded saying “We know the housing crisis isn’t simply in the Lower Mainland, we know there are real challenges when it comes to affordable housing, the lack of rental housing for communities in the North and in the Interior, the homelessness crisis that needs to be addressed, so these housing units will be all over British Columbia.”
