PRINCE GEORGE – D.P. Todd Secondary School was evacuated Monday afternoon after the discovery of a small fire.

Fire crews were called to the school in the early afternoon following reports of smoke in the school.  Upon their arrival, it took crews only a few minutes to stamp out a fire found in a garbage can within the school.

Students and staff were evacuated and waited outside the building while firefighters attempted to clear the smoke from the building.  Students are expected to be allowed back into classes once the smoke is cleared.

The school’s website says more than 700 students are enrolled at D.P Todd. There were no injuries.
