Downtown Hotel Close to Opening

PRINCE GEORGE – Construction continues on a new downtown hotel with an opening date set for the middle of May.

The finishing touches are being put on the Marriott Courtyard,  located on Brunswick Street between 9th and 10th Avenues.

The development is the first Mariott Courtyard in B-C.  Once open it will offer 174 guest rooms, several sizes of meeting spaces, a 46 hundred square foot ballroom, and a saltwater pool.

It’s hoped the amenities will attract new customers to the city and revitalize the downtown of Prince George. 

General Manager David McQuinn says there has been a big focus on hiring local tradespeople for the construction.  The initial price tag associated with the development was 35 million dollars.
