HIGHLIGHTS: Spruce Kings Down To Last Life

Mar 21, 2018 | 8:51 AM

PRINCE GEORGE – The Spruce Kings can’t afford another first period like the one they had in Surrey Tuesday night if they hope to survive their second-round playoff series with the Surrey Eagles.  Surrey scored three times in the opening 10:31 and cruised to a 4 – 0 shutout of Prince George, giving the Eagles a commanding 3 games to 1 lead in the best of seven Mainland Division Final.

Matthew Campese had a goal and two assists to pace the Eagles attack while Jackson Ross and Jeffrey Stewart each had a goal and an assist.  Mario Cavaliere stopped all 23 shots for the shutout.

After opening the series with a 9 – 1 victory, the Spruce Kings offense has gone dry, scoring only 3 times since.  Game 5 in the series is set for Prince George Thursday night.  Tickets will be on sale at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena Wednesday at noon to 5:00 pm.
