PRINCE GEORGE- Inspired by stories her father told her and old indigenous stereotypes from movies and comics, Kim Stewart has put together an exhibit that comes from the heart. “I used my father in a lot of the imagery because he used to tell us these wild and fantastical stories about his abilities, one of them was the fact that he had one time wrestled the antler off of a moose,” said Stewart.  She painted stories of her childhood as comic book covers, side by side with comic books from the past. “I’m looking at the sorts of things I looked at when I was a kid and sort of getting back into those feelings as a kid, and seeing how that influenced me as an adult.”

The exhibit features paintings, installations, comic books, and beadwork. A launch party takes place tonight at the Two Rivers Gallery that’s free to attend. The event starts at 7:30.
