Students Enjoy A Healthy Breakfast

VANCOUVER – A healthy breakfast is a great way to start the day. That’s what students at Ron Brent Elementary had this morning, thanks to Breakfast Club of Canada’s breakfast program, in partnership with TransCanada.

Principal Dan Watt says the program helps feed about 35 to 50 students at the school on a daily basis. “We sometimes utilize food from the program in classrooms, for those students who are late to school. It is an invaluable program that helps our students be equipped for learning every day,” said Principal Watt.

Breakfast Club of Canada and TransCanada partnered four years ago to help fund four breakfast programs across the province. Since then, six additional school programs have formed in B.C.

“Our organization believes in the importance of programs that support early childhood nutrition and education because we understood that success begins early. We look forward to continuing this partnership with Breakfast Club of Canada,” said Kiel Giddens, Regional Manager, Public Affairs for TransCanada.
