PRINCE GEORGE- Big Brothers Big Sisters is celebrating after it’s most successful Pink Shirt Day campaign yet. More than $26,000 was raised this year through donations from businesses and individuals, and more than $7000 worth of pink shirts sold by Save on Foods locations in the city. The money raised helps Big Brothers Big Sisters mentorship programs, that prove to be successful in preventing bullying. “We’re providing mentors for our youth, and a great way to show that is spreading the message of awareness around bullying that our youth are experiencing and giving them the skills and confidence to deal with that,” said Community Development Manager, Darbi Brand, “as well as offering support to children who may be showing bullying behaviours, I feel like our programs are very beneficial for all parties.”
