PRINCE GEORGE – The Spruce Kings beat the Wenatchee Wild 4 – 2 Tuesday night. Down 3-0 in the series, the team had to win to force a fifth game. Not only would losing end their season, but they would also have to watch the Wild be crowned Fred Page Cup Champions on their home ice.

The team seemed to embrace the pressure, coming out quick with two goals in the first period from Kyle Johnson and Patrick Cozzi.

Wenatchee would score two of their own in the second, with contribution once again coming from AJ Vanderbeck. The captain and most recent BCHL Player of the Week has 13 points in the last five games and five goals in the series.

Before the second expired, Ethan de Jong scored to give the Spruce Kings the lead back. A lead they would hold onto, thanks to an insurance goal from de Jong with under 90 seconds to play.
