Less than 13 percent of licensed engineers in Canada are women. The University of Northern BC is hoping to change those numbers, and start attracting girls to the profession at a young age. Despite a steady increase – women still remain under-represented in this field.
18 College of New Caledonia Professional Cooking students, along with their Instructor, Chef Ron Christian, have been hard at work this week. They have been preparing a banquet big enough to feed nearly 1,000 people.
The City of Prince George has established its advanced polls for the referendum on replacing Fire Hall #1 and the Four Seasons pool. The City is asking residents for approval to borrow $15 million to rebuild the fire hall and $35 million to rebuild the pool.
The Prince George Hospice Society has been running the Grief & Grub for Guys program for a couple of years. Grieving men meet once a week for a home cooked meal at the Central Fellowship Baptist Church and open up about what they are going through.
