Prince George RCMP announce new top cop

Inspector Shaun Wright has been promoted to the rank of Superintendent at the Prince George detachment. Wright has been the Operations Officer in Prince George since late 2016, and has had 23 years of service with the RCMP.

Crooks steal trailer in marked vehicle: RCMP want public’s help in identifying them

RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects who stole a enclosed trailer off of a construction site on Monday, July 22. The duo are said to have stolen the trailer off of a site on Griffiths Ave around 5:15 AM, using a marked vehicle as their getaway car.

‘Minds in Motion’ aims to offset dementia symptoms

A weekly class run by the Alzheimer Society of BC hopes to delay symptoms of dementia by stimulating the minds of seniors. Cognitively stimulating activities, and social engagement are part of the 45 minute class.

The Humane Society is trying out a new event targeted at families with children with autism. The idea was kickstarted by a woman and her son with autism who have been visiting the Society for several months, before opening hours, to read to the cats. According to the humane society the mother has seen significant progress in her son’s reading skills.

Dog owner rescued after being trapped on a ledge at LC Gunn Trail

Prince George Fire Rescue was called to a report of a person trapped on a ledge on the bank of LC Gunn Trail on Wednesday night. The owner was trying to rescue their dog who had fallen over the edge of the embankment and fractured its leg.
