RCMP pulls search for fugitives out of York Landing

YORK LANDING, Man. — The R-C-M-P has pulled its search for two B-C murder suspects out of the remote northern Manitoba community of York Landing.
There was speculation Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam McLeod might be in the area, but an extensive ground, air and water search yesterday proved fruitless.
The town of Gillam, about 90 kilometres northeast of York Landing, remains the focus of the northern search for now.
The suspects are wanted in the deaths of University of British Columbia professor Leonard Dyck, Australian Lucas Fowler and his American girlfriend Chynna Deese.
