PRINCE GEORGE — The last week has been dominated by the ongoing dispute between Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs and Coastal GasLink. Supports have gone both ways and now a new group has put their allegiance for the First Nation.

As of 4pm Friday, total of 69 faculty and staff at the University of Northern BC have expressed their solidarity to the Hereditary Chiefs. In a release, those in support called on the provincial and federal governments, as well as RCMP, to respect the eviction under the basis of Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs never ceding their jurisdiction to the land.
