Ottawa to intervene in the Canadian postal worker strike

OTTAWA — The federal government is intervening in the Canadian postal worker strike.
Federal Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon says negotiations are at an impasse and that Canadians are fed up.
He’s asked the Industrial Relations Board to report on whether it thinks a deal can be struck by the end of the year.
If it deems a deal is unlikely, Canada Post and workers will be ordered back to work.
