PRINCE GEORGE — Joshua Ravensbergen continues to impress for the Prince George Cougars.

The 19-year-old netminder was named the WHL’s Goaltender of the Month for November as he posted an 8-2 record with a 2.00 goals-against average, .940 save percentage, and one shutout.

The San Jose Sharks prospect made a league-leading 312 saves on 332 shots in 601 minutes of action last month. He was also the WHL’s goaltender of the week for the week ending Nov. 30.

Ravensbergen made at least 35 saves on four occasions in November, including a month-high 39 stops in a 4-3 overtime victory at Seattle on Nov. 1. On that same road trip, he also led Prince George to wins over Portland and Everett.

The North Vancouver native then won five consecutive games to close out the month as the Cougars picked up wins over the Kamloops Blazers, Edmonton Oil Kings, and Wenatchee Wild, along with two wins over the Victoria Royals.

Undrafted into the WHL, Ravensbergen leads all goaltenders with 15 wins and he’s in a four-way tie for the league lead with four shutouts.

This is Ravensbergen’s second WHL Goaltender of the Month award, as he was previously recognized in Nov. 2023. He also won the league’s Rookie of the Month award in April 2024.

He’s also been named to the WHL’s Second All-Star Team on two occasions – the B.C. Division team in 2023-24 and the Western Conference team in 2024-25.

Ravensbergen was also one of four goaltenders invited to participate in Canada’s World Junior Summer Showcase in Minneapolis. Team Canada is set to announce its roster for the upcoming tournament on Monday (Dec. 8).

The Cougars will wrap up a five-game road trip with their second game in Victoria this (Dec. 7) afternoon. They’re set to return to the CN next weekend for a pair of games against the Kamloops Blazers on Dec. 12 and 13.

It’ll be the Cougars’ final home games before the WHL winter break, with the ever-popular Teddy and Toque Toss game scheduled for Saturday to wrap up Spirit Weekend.
