Cougars claw back to beat Vees in OT

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars beat the Penticton Vees 4-3 Tuesday night before 3,526 fans at the CN Centre.

The win secured home-ice advantage in the first round of the WHL playoffs for the Cougars. Dmitri Yakustenak scored his 23rd goal of the season with 33 seconds left in the third period to send the game to overtime.

Brock Souch scored the game winner 22 seconds into the extra frame. It was his 27th marker of the year.

Koy Funk (4) and Terik Parascak (31) had the other Cougars goals while Joshua Ravensbergen blocked 29 of 32 shots. Penticton outshot Prince George 32-28.
