New Public Art on Display

The need for public art, it’s something that can bring a sense of new life to many communities, and that includes right here in Prince George. The city has installed three 2 and a half tonne granite celebration balloons outside the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena. The balloons represent all the festivities the city has celebrated from the Canada Winter Games, the city’s 100th anniversary, Canada 150 and preparations for the 2019 Paranordic games. The project cost the city $49,000 with two artists coming up with the designs.
