Preparing an Escape Plan Essential to Surviving a Fire

Its Fire Prevention week in Canada, and the theme this year is preparing a fire escape plan.
Every Second Counts, plan two ways out is a message the local fire department is sending. Residents are urged to prepare a fire escape plan with their families, by drawing a map of their homes, visiting each room and finding two ways out. Once a smoke detector is triggered, its only a matter of minutes before a fire can escalate. Local Chief Fire Information Officer Marcel Profeit says having a plan can help save your life.
