HIGHLIGHTS: Blazers Avoid Dropping 10 Straight; Beat Cougars

0-9-0 wasn’t the start Don Hay’s team wanted to start the season, but entering Friday night’s contest against the Prince George Cougars, that’s exactly where the Kamloops Blazers sat.

But the Blazers were having none of the idea of possibly dropping a 10th straight game, as they came flying out of the gates in the 4-1 victory at CN Centre.

The Cougars fall to one game under .500 with a 3-4-2-0 record on the season.

Power-plays, were the key difference in the victory, as Kamloops was 3/6 on the night.

Connor Zary and Brodi Stuart picked up power-play goals for the Blazers while Jermaine Loewen scored on an empty cage to seal the victory.

Vegas Golden Knights prospect Dylan Ferguson kicked out 24 of 25 shots for his first victory of the season.

Kody McDonald scored the lone tally for the home team.

Prince George is back on the ice tonight for the rematch against the Blazers.
