BC Hydro Cancels Rate Hike for 2018

The BC Government is putting a hold on the scheduled three percent increase in hydro rates for next year.

Energy Minister Michelle Mungall says the province will be reviewing BC Hydro in order to keep rates low.

The NDP government will conduct the review after they decide to either proceed or cancel the $8.3 billion Site C hydroelectric dam project. Any changes made from the review won’t take affect until April 2019.
