Artwork to be Unveiled in Vanderhoof Tuesday

Vanderhoof will have a new addition to it’s public art collection on Tuesday. A new mural celebrating shared history between settlers and First Nations elders will be unveiled on the corner of Highway 16 and Kenney Dam Road. The piece is called “ilho uztoodelh – Walking Together.” It was painted by local artists Annersose Georgeson and Michael Rees, the mural is a collaboration between Saik’uz Elders and the Good Neighbours Committee. The event will celebrate the collabroration on the mural, but also transit shelters that have recently been installed to protect Saik’uz commuters from the elements. The unveiling will take place at 1:45 with refreshments to follow at the Vanderhoof Fire Hall.
