Prince George’s Justin Hampole is headed back to the National Skating Championships.

This weekend at the Skate Canada Challenge in Montreal, the 16-year-old posted scores of 49.46 in the short program and 95.53 in the free skate for a total of 144.99 points, earning him 12th place in the junior men’s category.

The top 18 skaters in the category qualify for nationals, so Hampole will be headed to Vancouver from January 8th-14th, 2018 to compete at the event for the second time.

Last year he finished 14th in his first appearance at nationals, but this year he’s hoping for a top-4 finish and potentially a junior Grand Prix assignment.
