Spruce Kings forwards Kyle Johnson and Ethan de Jong will be representing their country at the upcoming World Junior A Challenge.

They have both made Team Canada West, which will play in the six team tournament in Truro, Nova Scotia from December 10th to 16th.

Johnson played for Team Canada West at last year’s tournament, but made the team under tougher conditions this year as they only take five 19-year-old players. This will be de Jong’s first time playing for Team Canada West after he was cut at last year’s camp.

“We are extremely proud of Kyle and Ethan on making Team Canada West. They are both very dedicated athletes and well deserving of this recognition. We know both Ethan and Kyle will represent the Spruce Kings well at the World Junior A Challenge,” said Spruce Kings head coach Adam Maglio in a statement.
