The Cowichan Valley Capitals scored 3 times on their first 7 shots and went on to defeat the road weary Prince George Spruce Kings 5 – 2 Sunday.

Ethan Scardina had two goals for the Capitals, who were winners for just the 6th time this season.  Dylan Anhorn and Patrick Cozzi scored for the Kings, who were playing in their third game in less than 72 hours.  Prince George was also without two of their best players.  Kyle Johnson and Ethan de Jong were winning a gold medal with Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge in Truro, Nova Scotia.

The King began their 3 game weekend road trip with a 3 – 1 win in Coquitlam Friday and a 3 – 3 tie in Victoria Saturday.  The Sunday loss was the Kings first in December and snapped their 8 game unbeaten streak.

Despite the loss, the Kings stand just one point behind the first place Langley Riverman in the BCHL’s Mainland Division. They’ll resume their season December 29th in Langley.
