David Tendeck pitched a 40-save shutout to backstop the Vancouver Giants to a 2-0 victory over the Prince George Cougars Sunday at the Langley Events Centre.

Rookie defenceman Bowen Byram broke a 0-0 tie with a power-play goal 11:31 into the third period. Not only did that bring the bears rainy down from the rafters, it served as the lone marker put past Cougars goaltender Tavin Grant, who turned in an admirable performance, stopping 31 shots in the Cougars cage.

Ty Ronning deposited his 32nd goal of the season into an empty net late in the contest to seal the decision.

After losing all three games on their weekend roadtrip, the Cougars go into the Christmas break 5 points behind Seattle for the final wildcard playoff spot in the West.
