The Mayor says another banner year for building permits and some major construction projects are just a couple of good news stories from the past year. But he has also pinpointed six areas he plans to have the City push for funding from other levels of government. They are the new library entrance, expanded emergency response capacity, additional housing and expanded health services, as well as the new pool, arts and culture and a refrigerated ice oval.

“What’s happening with the ice oval is that they have a team of folks who are certainly committed to wanting to refrigerate the oval,” says Mayor Lyn Hall. “It’s really a groundswell of support.”

The Mayor says he is also committed to continued downtown revitalization, with more housing and parking.

There are also five priority infrastructure projects for the Mayor. They are: civic facility assessments, working towards an integrated approach to managing and investing in all infrastructure, planning for $5 million in roads spending, the completion of Masich Place Stadium and providing better stormwater education.
