Knitting Train Set To Leave Prince George

Some find knitting calming and relaxing because of its repetitive rhythmic motion. A train ride can have the same effect. A local knitting supply store wanted to combine these experiences by hosting a return knitting train trip from Prince George to Smithers. Darlene Shatford co-owner of the Top Drawer Yarn Studio hosts knitting groups. A few months ago, she had an idea to take some knitters on a train adventure. According to Shatford, the knitting community is made up of all walks of life. She hopes by hosting a knitting train trip, it will give the group an opportunity to connect with other like-minded people. The knitters will board the train in Prince George January 20th and arrive in Smithers and return the next day.  Plans are in the works to have another knitting train in the future, so more will have the opportunity to unravel and connect.
