PRINCE GEORGE- Kat Valcourt’s “Northern Escapades” is on display until February 5th at Studio 2880. She says she’s typically known as a mixed media artist but chose to do the entire body of work in alcohol ink. It’s a unique medium that takes skill and a lot of patience. Valcourt puts a vibrant twist on the wildlife and landscapes of the North, specifically Prince George. “The people here are beautiful people, it’s an awesome community,” says Valcourt,”I picked some iconic places that I think would be familiar to the people here in Prince George.”

The Community Arts Council of Prince George features local artists in its gallery space for free and provides assistance for artists interested in showing their art.  “Sometimes it’s hard for an artist to understand, what do I need to do to get ready for an exhibit, where do I find space?” says Executive Director, Sean Farrell,”we’re excited to be able to have this wonderful space for local artists to try their hand at having a professional exhibit,” Farrell adds local artists can contact the arts council for space in the gallery.
