It’s the final weekend of the regular season for the Timberwolves basketball teams as they host the UFV Cascades. The men’s team is sitting in 10th place in their conference, with the top 12 teams qualifying for the playoffs. The T-Wolves can potentially lock up a playoff spot this weekend, but the twist is that most teams in the Canada West still have games next weekend when UNBC is on a bye. So all they can do is take care of business this weekend, and if things don’t go their way, do a little scoreboard watching next weekend and hope for the best.
The Timberwolves women’s basketball team is in pretty much the exact same situation as the men’s team, sitting in 10th with the top 12 teams making the playoffs. The T-Wolves could guarantee themselves a playoff spot with 2 wins this weekend, but just like the men’s team they may have to wait until next weekend and hope for losses from certain teams. But with the UFV women’s team sitting on the playoff bubble, the T-Wolves know how important the games are this weekend.
