PRINCE GEORGE — A local biathlete is stepping into the limelight. Sarah Beaudry, the designated alternate for the Canadian team has been called into action since the illness of another Prince George athlete, Megan Tandy.

Beaudry was supposed to race this morning in the 15 km biathlon but the race was postponed until tomorrow due to high winds. 23-year-old Beaudry is a product of the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club, and her whole family has been involved with the sport for years.

Sarah’s parents are thrilled to cheer their daughter on during her Olympic debut. Her mom Leisbet’s message to Sarah is to “have fun”. Sarah will race tomorrow morning at 12:05 am.
