Fatal Crash North Of Fort St. James

FORT ST. JAMES – A logging truck accident that occurred on 100 Forest Service Road, north of Fort St. James has claimed the life of a 44-year-old man from Merritt.

RCMP responded to the crash at around 6 am this morning. Once on scene, the police discovered that the logging truck had gone off the road and down a 15-foot embankment.

As a result of the crash, the load of logs shifted into the cab and trapped the driver. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation continues as police determine the cause of the accident.
