It’s a sport originally known as murder-ball, and yesterday Prince George residents got the chance to try it out with a Team Canada athlete. Five-time Paralympian Ian Chan was in town teaching about 15 keen athletes the basics of wheelchair rugby. Chan is a prominent member of the sport and was featured in the Oscar-nominated documentary “Murderball”. Chan was heading the event along with local wheelchair rugby athlete Joel Ewert, who recently tried out for the Canadian national team. They were happy to see lots of people come out who were interested to try the sport.
