Series of Services Planned To Remember Justa Monk

PRINCE GEORGE – A list of services are planned to mark the loss of Tl’azt’en Hereditary Chief Justa Monk.  The well known First Nations leader passed away Wednesday in Tache, following a battle with a series of health issues.

Funeral home prayers are planned Friday, March 16th at Assman’s Funeral Chapel between 1:00 and 2:30 pm.  A Memorial Service is scheduled Saturday at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Prince George.  The family is asking mourners to arrive by 10:30 am to be seated.

A Wake is planned from the evening of Saturday, March 17th to Monday, March 19th at Monk’s residence in Tache.  Then a Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 12:00 pm at the Eugene Joseph school in Tache.
