PRINCE GEORGE – Mayor Lyn Hall has officially declared April 21st to be Climb for Cancer Day in the city. Mayor Hall made the announcement this afternoon with David Duck, Climb for Cancer Committee Chair.

The event promotes the health and well being of residents. It will challenge them to climb the cutbanks to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society’s Kordyban Lodge.

The lodge is a home away from home for those receiving treatment where they receive food and support.

Since March 2013, the lodge has welcomed over 5,000 patients along with their caregivers. A previous guest said the Kordyban Lodge was a “refuge, an oasis” that offers support from the “conveyor belt of treatment.”
